Meet Ms. WALSH

Born and raised in a small gold rush town tucked between the foothills in Northern California, I was a child who never went anywhere without her Crayola crayons. Growing up with a mother much like Martha Stewart, I was exposed to the world of arts & crafts from an early age. I was always drawing, crafting, and constantly making a creative mess in my room. I followed my passion towards a creative career and received my BFA in Art and Design with a concentration in Graphic Design from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. After moving from California to Denver, CO I went back to school and received my Art Education license to teach Visual Arts K-12 from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2015.

I am always challenging myself as an artist and trying out new artistic techniques. I dabble in all kinds of art ranging from sewing, painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, you name it! I'm often asked, "What is your favorite type of art to do?" Some days I like to paint, some days I like to create digital art, and some days I like to sit on the couch and knit like an old lady. Whatever creative project I embark on, I make sure to enjoy the creative process equally as much as the end product.

I currently teach Digital Photography and Graphic Design at East High School in Denver. Being able to share my passion for art and design with the students at East has truly become a dream job come true.
