MOVIE POSTER DESIGN
Graphic Design I: Intro to Graphic Design
Assignment Choice #1: Create a convincing movie poster for a completely fictitious movie.
Assignment Choice #2: Create a convincing movie poster based off of an existing movie, but change it into a "pun" or play on words. For example, instead of "Planet of the Apes" it would be "Planet of the Snapes" from Harry Potter.
Students participated in the creative process to make a fictitious movie poster from conception to final print. Students researched movie poster design, draw up multiple sketches, and practiced new Photoshop techniques. Each student's poster displays their proficiency in Adobe Photoshop using masks, layers, and manipulating typography. Students learned about the rules of Visual Hierarchy and how information can be perceived by a viewer depending on the type size, type color, and the placement of type.
